and it was like a wrestling match. it was protesters with whistles and trump yelling at them. someone through a tomato. i walked away thinking, maybe none of these people are going to caucus. with trump, it is all about can they get their people out pitta did the organization i think organization is there, you have to rely on the person being motivated to return out on caucus night and that is the big? >> as far as we know, it sounds like more of a factor for tuesday. will go back to cragin lori as we look ahead to a snowstorm hitting our state law for caucus night. one presidential candidate has been working through it. new jersey governor, back on the campaign trail. he had to deal with his state getting to the 18 inches of snow

twitter hashtag 13 insiders. mike mahaffey, jerry crawford. what your take? >> he's impressive. he's very knowledgeable, easily one of the most knowledgeable republicans in the field and obviously, there are some democratics are concerned that he would provide a significant contrast, younger, etc., but i keep remembering what lindsey graham said, which is his position on choice could mean he'd be the loser on day one of the nomination of a general election fight because he's been against choice in the case of rape or incest, there was even some talk of life of the mother, lindsey graham says that's a loser with 300 some electoral votes on day one. that's with the iowa caucuses

field with the exception of donald trump. it's mix them all hard right on issues us a try and be the survivor here in trump's case it doesn't seem to matter what his position as. is he the future of the party? >> dwight eisenhower, ronald reagan, george w. bush, all run the presidency not because they were angry, because they are optimistic about the future of this country. marco rubio projects and optimism that unfortunately has been missing too much in this campaign in iowa. he talks about the greatness of this country. he talks about the fact that he wants a next-generation to achieve an aspire to achieve and how success just like the previous generations. there's a movement towards a common there's no question talking to people around the state this past week, i think from a practical standpoint as many people, that are taking a real serious look at him.

but it's a fairly strong third. you could make an argument that once you get past new hampshire, get into nevada, you get to florida, florida is winner take all, that could be where he makes his stand, if you will let's bring in two of our states more prominent bloggers. let's start with you on this. are democrats afraid of marco rubio? >> i think certainly he is the candidate of the democrats are probably least like to face, i think hillary clinton would be well positioned to win hundred 70 electoral votes. i was a little surprised that marco rubio wasn't coming on stronger in the des moines register poll. i had a author contributor post for you look at 35 years of late iowa caucus polling. has very common for some candidates come out of nowhere, rubio seems like the candidate to come out of nowhere and have the surprise showing. that didn't show up in that

it does seem like he could be a candidate, as are making their last-minute decisions pig you and i were at his rally in carbondale last night. we were talking about that register poll that she just brought up here, if you're basing it on feel come it did feel like he is kind of on the way up. it doesn't show in that poll. >> i think people really wanted to see some movement in that poll to confirm what everyone is talking about and seeing on the ground and it wasn't there. in fact i was at the bloomberg des moines register release. they said actually, the numbers have gone down over the days of the poll was in the field which surprised me more. i still think as people go through their decision-making process and if you are supporting candidates like jeb bush, chris christie, carly fiorina who's at low single digits. i think viability really matters to people. at the end of the day, they're going to want to make to cast

still think rubio has a great shot at being the surprise opposite. >> we need to bring you back in here. the one thing that i have noticed, talking to some people, politically you can find some daylight between crews and rubio on some of these issues, i met people who like the generally shot aspect of those two seem to be going back and forth on crews and rubio pitta think there's any question about that. i was at a swim meet yesterday in brooklyn, iowa and talk to some republican friends, but a half dozen come off of him who had not completely made up their mind. the one name that was in the mix for everyone of them was rubio. for some of them it was rubio or crews but it's interesting even though i don't think they're going to share thanksgiving dinner with each other this year, there is some of that. pitta think craig makes a good point. there was still, 9 percent undecided?

sections of the state, a few spangles around the ames area paid you can see the rain falling from ottumwa, centerville, iowa city. a few showers, essentially just some sprinkles, continued have plenty of clouds over central iowa. will have some clearing later on today with skies turning partly cloudy. here is that storm setting up over colorado, the snow is beginning to develop. it'll stretch into portions of iowa by monday night and it will fall heavily here early tuesday morning, during that commute into work. rain/snow line is going to very close to the metro area. i would have a great impact on the des moines totals, if that does spied north or south, even just a little bit. you will have dry conditions in the daytime hours on monday. the green building and from the south 4:00 o'clock on monday evening, will have some rain showers transitioning into some snow by the time the caucuses are done. okay getting home it would just

start to intensify through midnight. heavier snow bands right across central iowa by midnight. it'll continue to sit in place through the commute home. 9:00 o'clock in the morning, still some heavy snow. notice how close the rain/snow line is. this'll have a dramatic change in those numbers in a short distance. you watch a very closely where it sets up overly determine where the heaviest snow is for now it's keeping des moines on the snowy side of things with a range of to the south, heaviest snow across an or central part of the state. it shall be done by early wednesday morning. snowfall through early tuesday morning. you drive into work will have two -- 3 inches of snow on the ground in des moines five -- six toward carol pitt will add that to the day the winds will pick up, 35 mile-per-hour gusts at 6:00 o'clock, the drive home five and half inches in des moines, 8 inches in carol, much less to the south because it is south of that rain/snow line.
